Nationals Offense Comes Alive in 7-6 Win Over Cleveland

Led by some timely late-innings hitting, the Washington Nationals downed the Cleveland Guardians in a thrilling 7-6 come from behind victory Sunday afternoon in front of 22,000 fans at Nationals Park.

Starting pitcher Patrick Corbin gave the Nationals a solid effort, giving up two earned runs on five hits over six innings. The Nats got to starting pitcher Shane Bieber for 3 runs with 9 hits during Bieber’s six innings of work.

Offensively the Nats were led by home runs by Jaimer Candelario and Luis Garcia.
