Spirit Down Reign 1-0 in Season Opener

Led by Trinity Rodman’s 54th minute goal, the Washington Spirit opened their 2023 season on a high note, as they downed the visiting OL Reign 1-0 at Audi Field in Washington D.C.

The game also marked goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury’s 100th career regular season NWSL appearance.

OL Reign controlled play for most of the first half, but the teams went into the locker room with no goals being scored.

The second half was a different story as the Spirit dominated play and then took the lead for good with Rodman’s goal

Next up for the Spirit is Racing Louisville FC on Saturday April 1st.
