Caps Explode for Five Goals, Down Lightning 5-1

Sonny Milano scored his first and second goals of the season Friday night, leading the Washington Capitals to a 5-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning at Capital One Arena in Washington D.C.

Anthony Mantha opened the scoring at 10:32 of the 1st period giving the Caps a 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission

Milano put in the first of his two goals at 7:03 of the second period followed by Alexi Protas goal seven minutes later giving the Caps a 3-0 lead after two periods.

Caps goaltender Darcy Kuemper came up big all night, recording 28 saves and being awarded the number one star of the game.
