Turnovers Lead to Defeat, Mason Men Fall to Richmond 77-57
Turnovers was the story of the day for the George Mason men’s basketball team on Saturday afternoon, committing 22 in total as they fell to Richmond 77-57 in Atlantic 10 conference play at EagleBank Arena.
Richmond proved to be too much for the Patriots, leading throughout the entire game. Mason closed in on the lead in the second-half, bringing it to 46-42 with 13:25 left in the game, but the Spiders then went on a 15-3 run to put the game away.
Senior A.J. Wilson led Mason with 16 points, followed by Jamal Hartwell II with 10, Jordan Miller with 8 and Tyler Kolek and Greg Calixte with 7 each.
With the loss, Mason falls to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in A-10 conference play.
