Mason Women Rally in 4th Quarter, But Fall Short to Davidson 61-57
Senior Marika Korpinen poured in a career-high 21 points but it wasn’t enough for the George Mason women’s basketball team as they fell to host Davidson 61-57 on Sunday evening in and Atlantic 10 matchup at Belk Arena.
Mason found themselves down 12 points at the end of the third quarter before mounting a fourth quarter comeback that brought them to within one point with just 12 seconds remaining in the game. However that’s as close as the Patriots would get as Davidson finished off the game with three straight free throws to extend the margin of victory to four points.
The loss drops the Patriots to 3-6 overall on the season and 0-2 in A-10 conference play.
