Mason Falls to Norfolk State 68-65 in Final Non-Conference Game

The George Mason men’s basketball team played their final non-conference game of the season on Saturday afternoon but couldn’t come away with the victory, falling to visiting Norfolk State 68-65 at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax.

Mason led throughout much of the game, leading by 13 points midway through the second-half but a series of turnovers and missed free throws paved the way for the comeback by Norfolk State.

Freshman Tyler Kolek led all scores, hitting five three-pointers on the way to a career-best 19 points. Josh Oduro was the only other Patriot in double figures as he put in 10 points.

The loss drops the Patriots to 4-2 on the season. They begin A-10 conference play on Wednesday as they hit the road to take on UMass.
