George Mason Downs Queens 66-65 in Opener
The George Mason University men’s basketball team opened their 2020-2021 season with a win on Thursday evening, as they downed Division II Queens University 66-65 in the DC Paradise Jam tournament at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.
Mason found themselves down by five with just under four minutes remaining, but held the Royals scoreless from that point forward to secure the win.
Javon Greene led the way for the Patriots with 19 points, followed by Josh Oduor with 13 and Jordan Miller with 11.
The Patriots shot a combined 46.2% (24 for 52) from the floor while also committing 18 turnovers.
Mason continues in the Paradise Jam tournament on Friday afternoon as they take on mid-major power Belmont.
