Meesseman Scores 17, But Mystics Fall to Seattle 71-64

Emma Meesseman scored a game-high 17 points Thursday night for the Washington Mystics but it wasn’t enough as the team fell to the Seattle Storm 71-64 in Wubble action at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Jacki Gemelos and Tianna Hawkins were the only other Mystics who scored in double figures, adding 10 points each. The loss drops Washington to 4-12 on the season and puts them in 10th place, which is two spots outside of the playoff line cut.

Breanna Stewart led the way for the Storm with 16 points while Natasha Howard and Jewell Loyd each put in 13.

The victory lifts the storm to 14-3 on the season, putting them atop the WNBA standings.
