Mystics Drop Sixth Straight; Fall to Sparks 81-64

Ariel Atkins had a strong game, contributing 20 points, pulling down 7 rebounds and dishing out two assists but it wasn’t enough to stop the Mystics losing streak, as they fell to the Los Angeles Sparks 81-64. The loss was the sixth straight loss for the Mystics, their first six-game losing streak since 2016.

The other offensive highlights besides Atkins were Emma Meesseman who posted her second double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds and Myisha Hines-Allen who put in 10 points, marking her ninth consecutive game scoring 10+ points.

Atkins’ 20 points marked her third 20+ point game of the season.

The loss drops the Mystics to 3-6 on the season.

Five Sparks scored in double figures led by Riquna Williams with 13 points. Nneka Ogwumike contributed 12, Chelsea Gray put in 11 and Brittney Sykes and Te’a Cooper each scored 10. The victory lifts the Sparks to 6-3 on the season, good enough for 3rd in the WNBA Western Conference.
