St. John’s Takes DCSAA Girls AA Title, Downs Sidwell Friends 54-44
Led by Azzi Fudd’s 17 points, six rebounds and five assists, the St. John’s Cadets downed Sidwell Friends 54-44 on Sunday afternoon to take the D.C. State Athletic Association Class AA championship at GW University’s Smith Center.
It was the fifth consecutive DCSAA title for the Cadets and their sixth in the past seven years.
It enabled the Cadets to finish their season on a high, after losing to Bishop McNamara the weekend before in the WCAC tournament.
The Cadets had two other players in double figures, Taylor Napper who put in 16 points, along with 11 boards and Kelis Corley who contributed 10 points.
