DeMatha Rolls Past PVI 70-56 to Take WCAC Crown

DeMatha Catholic High School would not be denied.
They came into Monday night’s WCAC championship game against Paul VI needing one more win to reach 30 wins on the season as well to get head coach Mike Jones his 500th win in his 18 seasons as head coach. Oh yeah, with the win they would also win the 2020 WCAC championship, their 41st overall basketball title in school history and their second WCAC title in the last three years.
With a high-powered offensive performance and strong defense, the Stags rolled past Paul VI 70-56 in front of a raucous packed house inside Bender Arena on the campus of American University.
Senior and Michigan commit Hunter Dickinson controlled the tempo of the game dominating the middle and forcing PVI’s offense to bend to his will. Senior and Miami commit Earl Dickinson was a force all night, scoring 21 points while adding nine rebounds, six assists and five blocks.
