WCAC Playoff Winners – Headed to Sunday’s Semifinals
WCAC Quarterfinal action was held Saturday afternoon and all of the top seeds advanced as expected although not without a little drama on the boys side.
In the first boys matchup of the day St. John’s survived against going to 2 overtimes against Good Counsel, finally taking them down 72-60.
In other boys scores it was DeMatha beating Bishop O’Connell 85-57, Paul VI downing Archbishop Carroll 61-46 and Gonzaga bearing Bishop McNamara 72-59.
The girls quarterfinals took place at DeMatha.
– top seed Bishop McNamara tolled to a victory over St. Mary’s Ryken 61-42
– St. John’s downed Elizabeth Seaton 58-46
– Paul VI steamrolled past Good Counsel 63-28
Bishop O’Connell downed Bishop Ireton 43-36
All semifinal games take place Sunday at Bender Arena on the campus of American University
