In Battle of Atlantic 10 Rivals, GW Women Down George Mason 62-57

It was an back and forth affair all game but when it mattered most the George Washington women were able to pull away from visiting George Mason and come away with a 62-57 victory Saturday afternoon at the Charles E. Smith center.
GW trailed with about a minute remaining but then was able to reel off the last six points of the game to put the game away.
The victory ups GW’s record to 11-14 overall on the season and 5-7 in the conference. George Mason drops to 8-17 overall and 2-10 in the Atlantic 10.
Graduate student Alexandra Maund led the way for GW with 16 points followed by sophomore Kayla Mokwuah and redshirt freshman Mayowa Taiwo who chipped in 11 points each.
