Beal’s Final-Second Layup Leads Wizards to 119-118 Victory Over Mavericks
In the closing moments of Friday night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks, Bradley Beal slashed his way towards the basket, took the inbounds pass from Troy Brown Jr. and put in the game-winning layup with two-tenths of a second remaining to lead the Washington Wizards to a 119-118 victory over the Mavericks at Capital One Arena.
Beal finished the game with 29 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists.
The inbounds play drawn up by coach Scott Brooks worked to perfection as Troy Brown Jr. got the ball to a streaking Beal, who was able to get free and open thanks to a high screen by Mortiz Wagner.
The win lifts the Wizards to 18-32 on the season.
