PVI Holds Off St. John’s 61-57; 2nd Victory Over SJC in 5 Days

Led by the play of newly-minted 5-star recruit Trevor Keels and Duke commit Jeremy Roach, the Paul VI boys downed visiting St. John’s College High School 61-57 on Thursday evening in a WCAC matchup. It was PVI’s second victory over SJC in less than a week.

The win lifts PVI to 17-5 overall on the season and 11-2 in the tough WCAC.

Keels all scorers with 20 points followed by Roach with 16, Josaih Freeman with 12 and Doug McDaniel with 8.

For St. John’s, Ishmael Leggett led the way with 17 points followed by John Wilson with 14 and Mikey Square with 9.

Unlike the game 5 days ago where PVI started slowly and overcame the early deficit to eventually win, on Thursday night PVI came out strong and led most of the game.
