Led by Castellanos, NYCFC Downs Columbus 1-0
Led by Valentin Castellanos’ 10th goal of the season, NYCFC slid past the Columbus Crew 1-0 on Wednesday night at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
The match was a tight affair but NYCFC dominated play in the first half, getting most of the scoring chances Maxi Moralez nifty pass to Castellanos which resulted in Taty easily putting it in the net past Crew keeper Eloy Room for the game’s lone goal in the 36th minute.
The victory lifts City to 12-5-8 on the season, and their 44 points puts them in third place in the Eastern Conference only one point behind Atlanta and Philadelphia.
