Mystics Set 3 Point Record; Down Indiana 107-68
The Washington Mystics set a WNBA record for most three-pointers made with 18, as they steamrolled the visiting Indiana Fever 107-68 on Sunday afternoon at the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
The offensive display from the Mystics was dazzling as the team reached a season-high 107 points, nine different players hit 3-point shots and it was the team’s 11th victory of 20 or more points this season, setting a WNBA record.
The game was never in doubt for the home team as they jumped out to a quick lead which became 24-10 at the end of the 1st quarter. But it was the second half that they really poured it on outscoring the Fever 64-44.
It marked the 6th consecutive win for the Mystics, raising their record to 20-7 on the season and keeping them in first place in the WNBA.
Elena Delle Donne led the way for the Mystics with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists while Ariel Powers had four 3-pointers and a total of 19 points.
The Mystics took the season series 3-0 against the Fever.
As strong as the offense was, the defense was even tougher as they kept the Fever to shoot 39.7% from the field and only 20% from 3-point range.
