Mystics Cruise to 88-59 Victory Over Seattle; Remain Atop League

Led by six players in double figures, the Washington Mystics easily defeated the defending champion Seattle Storm 88-59 Wednesday night in front of almost 4,000 fans at the Entertainment and Sports Arena on Elena Delle Donne bobblehead night.
It was the 4th win in a row for the Mystics and the ninth in their last 10 games.
It was a balanced offensive attack for the Mystics as Aerial Powers led the way with 16 points followed closely by Delle Donne and Tianna Hawkins with 14, Ariel Atkins and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough with 11 apiece and Emma Meesseman with 10.
The Storm jumped out to a quick start and led 23-16 after the first quarter before the Mystics came roaring back to lead at the half 38-35. Washington never looked back after that and buried the Storm in the 4th quarter, outscoring them 29-8 in the final period.
The victory keeps the Mystics (18-7) in sole possession of first place in the league, one full game ahead of the Connecticut Sun who also won on Wednesday.
