Heber, Mitrita Lead NYCFC Past Colorado 2-1

Coming off two consecutive losses, NYCFC was looking to rebound against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday night and thanks to goals by Heber and Alexandru Mitrita, the visiting NYCFC downed the Rapids 2-1 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

After a rain delay caused the start of the game to be delayed by 30 minutes, Colorado jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a goal by Sebastian Anderson in the 6th minute.

However in the match’s 40th minute, Heber took a ball from Maxi Moralez in front of the goal and volleyed it past Rapids keeper Tim Howard to even the score at 1-1.

Alexandru Mitriță came into the game in the 63rd minute and 20 minutes later scored the decisive goal for City as he put his shot into the corner of the net.
