Spirt and Reign Play to 1-1 Draw
The Washington Spirit and Seattle Reign FC played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night in front of 3,500 fans at Cheney Stadium in Tacoma.
After a scoreless first-half, the Spirit struck first when midfielder Andi Sullivan scored her first professional goal in the 62nd minute. Seattle tied it up 15 minutes later when midfielder Jess Fishlock scored her first goal of the season in the 77th minute.
The win moves the Spirit to 5-1-2 on the season. Their 17 points keeps them atop the NWSL standings, one point ahead of second place Utah Royals FC.
Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Bledsoe was outstanding in goal once again, with 24 shots being sent in her direction, nine of those being on goal.
