Mystics, Storm Meet in Finals Rematch
The Washington Mystics are set to host the Seattle Storm tonight as the two teams meet for the first time since last year’s WNBA Finals which the Storm won 3 games to none.
It was Washington’s first-ever trip to the WNBA Finals, but not a trip that left the team satisfied. Their early season play has made them a serious contender to reach the Finals again this season.
But first, tonight, there is a matter of revenge with the Storm.
Washington comes into the game standing at 4-2 on the season, with both losses coming at the hands of a strong Connecticut team. Six Mystics players are averaging in double figures.
The Storm comes into the game, as they have all season, without injured stars Sue Bird and Brenna Stewart. Led by rising star and possible MVP contender Natasha Howard and shooting guard Jewell Loyd the Storm have fought hard to get to 4-3 on the season. They are most recently coming off a hard-fought 2-point victory over Indiana on Tuesday night.
Tip-off is tonight at 7pm at the Entertainment and Sports Arena in Washington D.C.
