Led by Nurse’s 25, Liberty Surprise Lynx 75-69

Led by guard Kia Nurse’s 25 points, the New York Liberty beat the visiting Minnesota Lynx 75-69 on Wednesday night in front of just over 1,100 fans at the Westchester County Center.

Also coming up big for the Liberty was rookie forward Asia Durr who had a career-high 20 points.

The game wasn’t without its tense moments for the Liberty as their 10-point lead heading into the fourth-quarter was whittled down to three before going on a 10-4 run. Soon after, the Lynx once again made the game close, bringing the deficit to four before Durr made a clutch bucket with 20 seconds left to seal the victory.

For the Lynx, Sylvia Fowles led the way with 16 points and 11 rebounds. With those points, Fowles moves into the top-20 on the WNBA career scoring list with 5,025 points. The team’s quick start has been erased as they have dropped three of its last four games, bringing their record to 4-3 on the season.

It was the second consecutive victory, and second victory overall, for the Liberty.
