Chelsea Gray scored a career-high 29 points on Tuesday afternoon as the visiting L.A. Sparks downed the New York Liberty 78-73 in a matinee in front of 3,500 fans at the Westchester County Center.
The Sparks went on a late fourth-quarter rally, with Gray putting in 8 straight points, en route to the road victory.
Chiney Ogwumike contributed 15 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for the Sparks, who moved to 2-1 on the season.
Tina Charles led the way for the Liberty in the losing effort with 21 points and 14 rebounds. The loss drops the Liberty to 0-3 on the season and marks their 16th straight loss dating back to last season
