NWSL: Spirit Top Red Stars 2-0

Led by the strong goalkeeping by Aubrey Bledsoe and a second-half goal by Ashley Hatch, the visiting Washington Spirit won their third straight game, as they topping the Chicago Red Stars 2-0 Sunday night in front of 3,400 at SeatGeek Stadium.

It was Hatch’s second goal of the season, and it was Bledsoe’s third clean sheet of the season.

The win brings the Spirit to 4-1-1 with 13 points on the season, which moves them into a tie for first place with Utah Royals FC.

The Spirit also benefited by a Red Stars own goal in the 9th minute.
