WNBA: Dream Rallies to Beat Wings 76-72 in Opener

Behind strong defense and the offensive firepower of Jessica Breland, the Atlanta Dream rallied to beat the Dallas Wings 76-72 in the WNBA 2019 season opener.

The Atlanta defense was relentless, holding Dallas without a field goal in the final 2 minutes and holding the Wings to an overall 35.1% shooting percentage for the night.

Offensively, Jessica Breland led the way with 17 points on the night, including a key 3-point play in the late stages of the game. Point guard Renee Montgomery put in 15 while guard Brittney Sykes contributed 10.

Dallas held the lead 55-47 going into the 4th quarter, but Atlanta outscored the Wings 29-17 in the final period.

For Dallas, Allisha Gray had 14 points coming off the bench to lead the way followed by rookie point guard Arike Ogunbowale who put in 12.
