EPL: Man City Victory Ensures Back-to-Back Championships
In a dramatic final day of the 2018-2019 Premier League season, Manchester City defeated Brighton 4-1 to successfully defend their league title. City had led Liverpool by 1 point going into this final game and their victory over the Seagulls ensured then the title. Runner-up finisher Liverpool took care of business on their end defeating Wolves 2-0 at Anfield, but came up just short in the standings. It’s a tough pill to swallow for Liverpool as their 97 total points is the third best point total in Premier League history.
The season was a battle between the two top teams, City and Liverpool. And as was appropriate it all came down to Championship Sunday to determine the winner. And in the end City had to win their 14th consecutive match to clinch the title.
