Mystics’ Kiara Leslie To Miss At Least Three Months
The Washington Mystics announced on Friday that Kiara Leslie, the team’s first-round draft pick (10th overall), had arthroscopic surgery to repair the meniscus in her right knee and would be out at least three months.
This is a blow for the team as they had expected Leslie to be an impact player this season. It is unclear exactly how Leslie suffered the injury.
Without Leslie in the lineup for most, and possibly all, of the season the team will rely even further on Ariel Atkins, the team’s 2018 first-round draft pick. Additionally, guard Aerial Powers will get additional playing time in this her first full-season with the team.
